I've got at smartphone. But I think of it as a pocket computer. Before people began using the term smartphone I already had a POTS line (not to be confused with a POTUS line) plugged into my computer, a modem, various networking protocols, and was experimenting with voice over IP. To me a phone was an integral part of a computer. And it was already obvious (to a Byte subscriber anyway) that the future of telephony was digital and wireless.

Four years ago I wrote that the political media was dead and didn't know it yet. I thought at that time we'd quickly bury that corpse. Tonight we drove another stake into its undead heart but like zombies the only sure kill is to kill the head. I'm sure everyone feels a huge sense of relief that the elections are over. Especially when we have spent what seems like an eternity listening to the media talk about the "race". Perhaps that is part of the strategy.

The recent Supreme Court decision finally got me upset enough to blog again. Especially since I haven't seen anyone trying to talk about the validity of the decision. The press, and even the President can only seem to speak of the consequences of the decision, but the fundamental errors of judgement made by these so-called justices demand that someone speak out because the court itself has so lost sight of what they were sworn to protect.

Obama said that "We have a lot of work to do to get our country back on track", but perhaps no one expected the spanish inquisition? Or the nazi brown shirts?

Yet this is the inevitable result of the kind of mentality we have in the U.S. The kind of thinking that can get us into a pre-emptive war as revenge against a completely different enemy just because they are also arabic and muslim. The mindset that lets people be proud of being ignorant, while they drink way too many beers and cheer on for the home team.

I can't believe the stupidity of the American public. The media is talking about this like it's open to interpretation as usual. Bush's proclamation of clemency is a slap in the face. But I think if Bush literally wiped his ass with the U.S. Constitution it would be a popular clip on YouTube. And it is very likely to be in the next episode of Lil' Bush. What's wrong with you people?

Well it looks like "Kato" Kaelin has competition for the lowest form of bipedal life. Unfortunately, this guy has reproduced, which puts him out of the running for the Darwin awards. Sad to think that he will be entrusted with a child's welfare. Let's face it, it is all about the money. My favorite comment was heard on (Fox?) news where the newscaster said "anyone could be the father". That's right, everyone has had sex with Anna Nicole.

Here's a new twist I found on customer service. A certain satellite television provide advertises on their web site that they have "Better Customer Service for All" and on their contact page it says "Superior Customer Service". So can you guess what it is like to call them?
