Obama said that "We have a lot of work to do to get our country back on track", but perhaps no one expected the spanish inquisition? Or the nazi brown shirts?

Funny that surfing the channels late election night I see a documentary about Abraham Lincoln, and on a movie channel "Mr. Smith Goes To Washington". A coincidence?
Meanwhile the talking heads (not the band silly) are busy on some of the other channels trying to put their usual spin on things by discussing what changes (compromises) our new president will be forced to make to fit into their world view. That they seem a little shell shocked by the results, indicates that they still don't get it. I am hopeful, and insistent that it is this media, and the old school political thinking they represent, that need to get prepared for change.
Even the difference between the invite-only Republican camp in Arizona and the million strong mass of mostly young (well compared to me) people was striking. The Obama campaign, and his organization seem technologically strong, young and vibrant and are poised to make real changes. Clearly Obama is right to remind us that it won't happen unless we, the people, continue to help and give him support when needed. But it needs to happen.
So please let's not all sit back and let the mainstream media try to dictate the terms of the victory by telling us what Obama must do next. They are vanquished foe now, and as victors we need to dictate terms to them.

Just got the news. My resumé has expired. My resumé is no more! It has ceased to be! It's expired and gone to meet the shredder! It's torn! Bereft of Curriculum Vitae, it rests in the circular file! IT IS AN EX-RESUMÉ!!

Well it looks like "Kato" Kaelin has competition for the lowest form of bipedal life. Unfortunately, this guy has reproduced, which puts him out of the running for the Darwin awards. Sad to think that he will be entrusted with a child's welfare. Let's face it, it is all about the money. My favorite comment was heard on (Fox?) news where the newscaster said "anyone could be the father". That's right, everyone has had sex with Anna Nicole.

The website has been installed on a new server. Instead of just copying it over I rebuilt the website with more CSS and no tables. If there is anyone out there who reads this stuff, please bear with me as the posts were copied over one by one. Most comments are gone and trackbacks are not (yet) implemented. And I'll post some new entries soon, of course.

I was reading the news feeds as I sometimes do and after reading an article entitled Bush Defends Calling DeLay Not Guilty I just started laughing out loud. Then it hit me. I have not seen a single comic do a funny imitation of George Bush. I've seen a few body doubles, but they were just NOT funny. Jon Stewart does a lame Bush satire at best. Yet he is hilariously funny. Why? Because he plays off of news footage of George Bush just being himself. And that's the answer. Dubyah is actually funny without any help at all. He could have a great career playing half-wits at the movies if only he'd give up ruining our government. Reagan went from the movies to being president. Why not vice-versa?

- for a change by appointing Susan P. Kennedy. In an article in the New York Times Arnold Schwarzenegger is essentially called stupid by Dave Gilliard, one of the conservative leaders of the recall movement.

An article in the New York Times grabbed my attention. Apparently some scientists feel the state board of education in Kansas has displayed its philistine pig ignorance for:
Quote:
...singling out evolution as a controversial theory, and also for changing the definition of science itself so that it is not restricted to natural phenomena.
Having been educated in science I can see the problem here. But it seems these particular scientists have decided that the students in Kansas had better be punished for their board of education's sins and so they should just stay ignorant.

According to an article in the International Herald Tribune the Japanese government (or should I say Sony and Warner) are trying to establish a tax on music players.
